Act of Kindness #11 - The Jump Off

Lately I have learned that God has pretty perfect timing. Any other day I would have left a 5 p.m., especially yesterday because it was a pretty slow day at work for me. But, I have had a ton of recipe links that I've saved and wanted to get downloaded so I could type them up and print them. Unfortunately I still need to get Microsoft Office on my computer at home, so work is really the only place I can do it at. Since lovely Mother Nature decides to wait until rush hour traffic time to let loose with her torrential downpours, I figured I would stay late, wait out the storm & traffic and take care of some of the recipes. Jeff was also working late, so I decided I would stay long enough to go pick him up on the way home...definitely saves us on gas money!! So, I didn't end up leaving until about 6:45.

When I got in my car, I noticed on the other side of the parking lot there was a Bronco with its hood up. It looked like the guy standing outside of it was talking to someone else (turns out he wasn't), so I didn't think much of it and figured they were working on it. As I went to pull out of the parking lot to leave, I saw the man go across the lot to another man that had just walked out of my office building. It looked like he asked a question because the other man shook his head no then the guy walked off towards my building. I had a gut feeling he might need some jumper cables and since I had some I backed up and went to find out. Turns out he left his lights on all day and definitely needed some cables!

I drove over to his Bronco and he hooked everything up and after letting it charge a few minutes she started right up. He told me his name was Will and he actually works in the Weather Channel building which is across the street from us. Apparently they have valet parking now so he parks in our lower lot and walks across. He thanked me 100 times and tried to give me money, which I of course refused...it didn't cost me anything to help, just 5 minutes of my time which is nothing! So he told me he would owe me a beer then and we went on our way.

I'm glad God decided to put me in the right place at the right time. There's no telling how long Will would have been there waiting or looking for someone with cables, especially since our parking lot was pretty empty that time of night! Happy I was able to help :)
