30 Things That Make Me Happy

I've read a few blogs over the last couple of days where people are listing "32" things that make them happy. I decided to go with 30 because that's my age...and well, I can't think of another 2 right now :)

1) Music, any and all kinds. My husband says I have the most random mixed CD's. One minute we will be listening to Willie Nelson, then Godsmack and then like Eminem. If I had to chose one type to listen to the rest of my life though, it would be some old school rock. Give me some Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Led Zepplin, Joe Cockers, etc. and I will be set!

2) My doggies, Buddy and Dude. They are my babies! Buddy is my #1 baby though, I've had him since he was 8 weeks old and he will be 9 this year. Dude is one of Buddy's 9 puppies and we kept him because he was the only all black one.

3) My Husband Jeff - He is the ying to my yang. A lot of times I plot how to kill him in his sleep while he is keeping me awake with his snoring, but it can easily be forgiven when he is telling me I am beautiful while I'm dressed in baggy sweatpants, an old t-shirt and jacked up hair :)

4) Food - I used to be partial to cereal and pasta, but I have broadened my horizons...and my pant size haha.

5) Thunderstorms - Stick me on a screened porch and I will sleep outside during a thunderstorm!

6) Pajama pants - The softer and baggier, the better!

7) GA Bulldogs - GO DAWGS! Hopefully they GO a little better this year than the last few!

8) Ice Fishing - I love going to NY in February and going ice fishing with my dad. My brother and I used to go all the time when we lived up there and I hate not being able to do it down here!! There is something so calming and peaceful about being out there on a nice day, it's beautiful!

9) Snow...and not the kind we get down here in GA, that $#*+ is miserable! I want some NY snow that I can sled, snowmobile and build a snow fort or chicken with!! And yes, it is possible to build a chicken out of snow...I've seen me and my Mammy do it!

10) Wrap Around Porches - I would sit outside with a good book almost everyday if I had a wrap around porch! This is my dream house and one we are actually looking into possibly building next year...fingers crossed!

11) NASCAR - Yes, I like to watch 43 cars make left turns all day on a Sunday afternoon. The noise usually puts me to sleep after about 10 laps, I have an awesome nap and then wake up with about 50 laps left...in just enough time to watch all the good wrecks!

12) Family - Obviously this list is in no particular order, otherwise this would have been #1, but I do love my family. And while I could probably make an entire Jerry Springer season with some of my relatives, life would be boring without them!

13) Vanilla Flavored Tootsie Rolls...enough said...

14) My beautiful God Children, J.W. (James Wesley) and Holly. I loved them to pieces even before they were here and I am so honored to have been asked to be their Godmother!

15) Family Dinners - Our nephew on Jeff's side started us on the tradition of getting the whole family together either on Saturday or Sunday nights for dinner. I love cooking, love eating and love family, so what's better than that!

16) Candy Crush - We have a love/hate relationship...

17) Starbucks - I don't like hot coffee, but I love me some Starbuck's Caramel or Mocha Frappucinnos! Don't love looking at the calorie count though :(

18) Canning - My grandmother started canning a couple of years back and had me do some with her. I love some homemade jellies, sauces, etc. and hope to get a bunch done this year

19) Reading - Lately the majority of my reading has been limited to People magazine, but stick me on a plane and I will read an entire book in a 2 hour flight!

20) A Time to Kill - BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! I will watch it 20 times in a row and never get tired of it. "Now imagine she's white"...the quote that will give you chills the 1st time you watch it. Go rent it, you will not be disappointed!

21) Sudafed - These tiny little orange pills have been my best friend the last few days

22) The number "59" - It's been our family number since 1959...it was the number of my grandparents PO box, the phone number for my grandfather's mechanic shop, the racecar number of my grandpa, dad and uncle, all of my cousins have it as their jersey number and it's the number of years my grandparents were married before my grandpa passed away. We see this number EVERYWHERE now. It can be 20 degrees outside, but I start my car and it always says 59. I look at the clock and it will be 1:59, 7:59, etc. I was parked outside of a restaurant to pick up my lunch and the table number where I was parked at was 59...it freaks me out sometimes!

23) Mystery and investigation shows - My husband thinks I watch these so I can learn how to carry out his death and get away with it haha. I love First 48, 48 Hours, Criminal Minds, etc.

24) My Best Friend - Also know as my godchildren's Baby Mama. We have been best friends for about 12-13 years now and I know she is the one person I could call in an emergency and she would drop everything and be here...and vice versa! She doesn't judge me if my house is messy, ir I show up late (which is a given), or if I am being overly dramatic about something. I Luh You Mami! (Jennifer Lopez song reference there, in case you didn't get that)

25) My Sleep - This should actually be my #1, even over family haha. I like my sleep and I will turn into the wicked witch of the south if it is interrupted.

26) ECards - I can find a funny one for any situation in life and they bring a smile to my face on the daily

27) Old Couples - I will turn into a mushy, teary schoolgirl any time I see old couples together. Nothing is sweeter than a 90 year old couple holding hands together and still completely in love after like 70 years of marriage. It still gives me hope with the world

28) Sunny Days - I know, I said I like thunderstorms too, but I love sitting out at the lake on a day that is sunny, about 75 and a little windy outside. Give me a hammock and I'm golden!

29) My box fan and my blanket from my mother-in-law - I absolutely CANNOT sleep without a box fan going. If I travel out of town and am driving, you can bet your ass it is going with me. My mother-in-law also gave me a fuzzy blanket for Christmas a couple years ago and I literally slept with it almost every night since. Yes, I have been guilty of putting it in a vacuum seal bag and sticking it in my suitcase when flying to NY...I feel like a 3 year old that can't sleep without my blankie

30) Movie Theatres - The best way to go and see a movie! Get there early, get your buttered popcorn, frozen coke and then find a seat in the top row!
