Act #22 Update: Date Night

So the last time I posted I said that Act #22 was done, just not delivered yet. So Weds afternoon I was finally able to get this one to the deserving recipient.

I had purchased a gift card to the local movie theatre here, got a Groupon certificate to a restaurant near the theatre and also had a coupon book for Bruster's Ice Cream...dinner, movie and dessert. Jeff and I are friends with a couple, Aimee and Greg. We actually met them through my brother as he was friends with Greg, they played softball together, lived together at one point, etc. They are still kind of newlyweds, they've been married almost 3 years, have a 2 year old little girl and work their asses off (yes I said "asses", wash my mouth out with soap). I know they are like most of us right now, they go to work, come home, fix dinner, clean, go to bed and repeat the same cycle the next day. Again, like most of us, they make sure their bills are paid but a night out may take some planning and budgeting ahead of time. I know me personally, I am all for going out and having fun, but if it means pushing a bill off to do so, then we will be sitting our happy asses at home until we can afford it (gasp, I said "asses" again). I know they haven't had a night out just the 2 of them in a while. We haven't seen each other in forever, which I plan to change, but I follow stalk enough on Facebook and her blog to keep up haha. So, I thought they were very deserving of having some times to themselves without having to stress on how to afford to do so.

Weds I ended up having to leave work a little early to go to a hair appt, so on the way I stopped by and dropped the envelope off at Aimee's job that contained all the goodies for the date night. I wanted to go in her office and say "Hi", catch up, etc. but I got stuck behind the stupid GA State Patrol, which meant everyone did at least 5 under the speed limit, so I was almost late for my appt. I gave it to a girl at the front desk and she said she would put it in Aimee's mailbox for her. A couple hours later I received the following message on Facebook from her:

"I don't even know what to say! My day was MORE than made when I got the sweetest envelope delivered to me at work! Ashley Yeomans Flanagan I have no idea what to even say right now! I am the last person who deserved something like this. You have truly made my day more than you could ever imagine. I cannot thank you enough, and I am so excited that you have given Greg & I an opportunity for a date! Thank you MORE than words can say!!!"

I love that I could make her day, I know she was having a rough week so I hope it made it a little better!
